Our Kalamazoo Container Division, which is located in Kalamazoo MI is a modern, fully equipped corrugated manufacturing facility that produces a wide range of innovative corrugated products from ordinary brown boxes to intricate die-cut inner pack to high graphic packaging.
The product estimator position is responsible for collecting and analyzing data in order to estimate the time, money, materials and labor required to manufacture a product. The product estimator works closely with the customer service department to ensure the efficient delivery of accurate costs to clients.
·         Estimate the cost of producing corrugated packaging and displays. This includes but is not limited to, estimating the costs of boxes, scored sheets, die cuts, pads, etc. ·         Maintain cost changes in the system. ·         Provide back up to Customer Service as needed. ·         Ability to prioritize a fluctuating work load. ·         Willingness to work with co-workers and sometimes clients and/or vendors through a variety of media: phone, email, memos, etc. ·         Perform other duties as assigned.
·         High school diploma required, Associates or Bachelors’ degree preferred. ·         Ability to calculate accurately. ·         Attention to detail is critical to this position. ·         Must be able to read and understand specification sheets and other specification papers. ·         Ensure all specifications are accurate. ·         Strong customer orientation. ·         A minimum of one year in a product or cost estimating position. ·         Superior organizational and time management skills. ·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact with all levels within the Company. ·         Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision. ·         High attention to detail with ability to troubleshoot to determine cause and effect of poor customer experiences. ·         Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
