Green Bay Packaging's Arkansas Kraft Division is a fully-integrated pulp and paperboard mill. Being fully integrated means we utilize a large percentage of recycled materials to produce Kraft linerboard and medium. By recycling fiber in various forms, we are able to conserve substantial landfill acres annually. Average daily production of unbleached Kraft linerboard and medium is between 1,100 and 1,250 tons. Reporting to the Divisional Purchasing Coordinator for Arkansas Kraft, this position will facilitate all aspects of supply management activities between Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations departments and their suppliers. The position will also create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement. The position will develop a working knowledge of Arkansas Kraft’s Operations, and support the Purchasing & Store’s team. The Buyer will work closely with the area production and maintenance Planners to procure goods and services required for effective mill operation, while maintaining and fostering the integrity of best procurement practices. The Buyer will be engaged in the MRO procurement of both goods and services. The position will also be responsible for tracking cost savings and recognizing opportunities to strengthen Arkansas Kraft’s position in the marketplace.
An undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent. Experience gained during internships, or while in college will be considered. In addition to a full complement of procurement skills – including the ability to work as teams in a union environment, it is also important for the Buyer bring knowledge of procurement principles, theories and process. Incorporating continuous improvement processes and best practices in all aspects of the procurement process will be keys to the success of the Buyer.
