The primary purpose of the Fiber Resource Division is to maximize growth and yield of forest products from our 246,000 acres while achieving a high standard of environmental sustainability.
Fiber Supply Objectives
Our division and land base is structured to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of wood products to the Arkansas Mill Division and Pinecrest Lumber Division.
Landowner Resource Program
Since 1979, the Fiber Resource Division has worked with private forest landowners to design individual forest management plans. These include, but are not limited to, harvest planning, reforestation, wildlife management and recreation objectives.
The Fiber Resource Division has an annual sustainable harvest and reforestation goal of 5,500 acres per year. We plant approximately 5,000,000 improved pine annually. These seedlings are generally ready for harvest at year sixteen.
Green Bay Packaging lands are managed for multiple use. These include: fiber production, recreational opportunities, water quality and environmental enhancements.
Fiber Resource Division does not own logging, planting or wood processing equipment. By partnering with independent contractors, all of these tasks are achieved.
