Division description
The Arkansas Kraft Division is a fully integrated pulp and paperboard mill utilizing both virgin Kraft pulp and recycled pulp in the manufacture of linerboard and medium. The mill has all of the processes associated with a virgin Kraft mill and equipment associated with the recycling of post-consumer fiber.
Job description
The primary responsibilities of the Electrical Maintenance Superintendent for the Arkansas Kraft Division will have financial and operating responsibility for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and management of the mill electrical maintenance and reliability group. Primary responsibilities
  • A steadfast commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Supporting the highest department quality and productivity levels.
  • Managing asset quality; ensuring the manufacturing reliability of equipment focusing on reducing and minimizing process downtime.
  • Work closely with the area production managers to establish objectives consistent with the Arkansas Kraft Division’s vision and strategy.
  • Strong leadership and clear communication of Arkansas Kraft’s strategy and short-term tactical objectives will provide a solid foundation to ensure accountability and understanding by employees at every level within the mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance and reliability group.
  • Lead and manage activities around asset management by maintaining and enhancing the plant’s property and equipment, improving substandard facilities, and requesting funds to upgrade facilities through budgets and capital funding requests.
  • Technical resource for 4 supervisors and 30 E&I Technicians.
  • Develop and help support the training program for hourly and salary personnel.
An undergraduate degree in electrical engineering is preferred, experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.  The Electrical Maintenance Superintendent should have at least 12 years of progressively more accountable electrical and instrumentation experience – ideally within the paper industry.  While qualified candidates may come from outside the paper industry, it is expected that they will have similar experience in a highly automated process and heavy industrial manufacturing environment, and be accustomed to large-scale production in a commodity driven low-cost business.
