Job description
We are looking for motivated individuals who can perform a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast paced production environment.  Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity.  This position is a 2nd shift position and candidates must be willing to work weekends and overtime as required.

The production supervisor:

  • Motivates their department to meet all safety quality, and productivity goals
  • Will be driven to continually improve performance and embrace changes that will help both their team and company meet production standards
  • Conduct and schedule on-going training for their team to ensure guidelines policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Accountable for assigned areas, key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to production associates to ensure company objectives are met
  • Support capacity planning process to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demands
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
  • Analytical ability to understand production line efficiencies regarding labor, machinery and production methods
  • Facilitate team and individual meetings

  • Implement operational strategies in assigned area(s) to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, cost and profitability
  • Drive for results: utilize motivational techniques to continuously improve performance
  • Schedule hourly employees and their duties to their strongest skillset
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to analyze results, check production levels and investigate production issues to ensure efficient department operation
  • Safety driven: enforce plant safety regulations, policies, procedures and housekeeping practices and encourage employees to become safety conscious
  • Strong communication skills: ability to listen, communicate needs and results, and motivate the team

Presentation Skills:

  • Conduct training of the workforce as needed and ensure appropriate disciplinary actions are taken when deemed necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Strong organizational skills:

  • Maintain appropriate logs and reports
  • Maintain a customer focus and have attention to details and quality
  • Ability to make sound decisions that will benefit the customer, the team, and the company

  • Maintain effective departmental quality procedures
  • Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • First point of contact for all hourly employee concerns
  • Prepare and submit reports as required
  • Perform other tasks as required by the department manager
