The Warren County Solid Waste Management District presented Green Bay Packaging – Cincinnati Division with the Go Green Award. Organizations were selected based on their efforts to recycle, reduce waste and engagement with earth-friendly activities. (2015)

Bama Sustainability Award

Tulsa Division was recognized for the Excellence Award Supplier-Excellence in Sustainability from Bama. The Bama Sustainability Award is presented to suppliers who excel in Environmental Sustainability. Bama identified that GBP excelled in the three pillars of sustainability: people, planet, profit. Environmental Leadership Award

Green Bay Packaging Coated Products Operations received the Supplier Award for Environmental Leadership from the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute. (2014).

Green Masters Award

Green Bay Packaging has been recognized as a Green Master company for the fifth consecutive year at the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council Annual Conference. The program encourages continuous improvement in nine areas, including energy, water, waste and social actions. (12/2014)

AF&PA Innovation in Sustainability Award

Arkansas Kraft Division received American Forest & Paper Association’s (AF&PA) first Innovation in Sustainability Award for achieving 100 percent fiber yield process recovery from wastewater system with innovative aeration technology. (11/2012)

Diamond Award for Excellence in Environmental Leadership

Arkansas Kraft Division was awarded the 2011 Diamond Award for Excellence in Environmental Leadership from the Arkansas Environmental Federation (AEF). The award recognizes initiative and innovative leadership. The Arkansas Kraft Mill was presented the Diamond Award for its installation of a sustainable, closed-loop recycling project to increase paper fiber recovery yield. (11/2011)

Pretreatment Award

Green Bay Packaging’s Fort Worth Division received the Pretreatment Partnership Award from the Fort Worth Water Department for its continuing compliance with local, state and federal pretreatment regulations. (11/2013)

Business Friend of Environment Award

Green Bay Packaging Inc. – Green Bay Coated Products (GBCP) Division earned the 2011 Business Friend of Environment (BFOE) Award at the 22nd annual Environmental Policy and Awards Conference. GBCP was awarded the Pollution Prevention category for diverting more than 50 percent of its waste from landfill through recycling, reuse and waste-to-energy programs. (5/2011)

Governor’s Award for Excellence in Environmental Performance

Green Bay Packaging Inc. – Green Bay Coated Products Division was recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and the Federation of Environmental Technologists with the annual Governor’s Award for Leadership in Environmental Performance for its project modifying the facility’s wastewater pretreatment process, significantly reducing the quantity of solid waste generated along with overall operational and maintenance costs. Orion Energy Systems Environmental Stewardship Award

Green Bay Packaging Inc. was the recipient of the Environmental Stewardship Award from Orion Energy Systems for its completion of energy-efficient lighting retrofits in seven of its manufacturing facilities. The energy-efficient retrofits are projected to save about 4.56 million kilowatt hours of energy annually. (2006)

Brown County Business Recycling and Waste Minimization Award

Green Bay Packaging Inc. – Green Bay Mill Division was presented with the Brown County and Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce award for recycling and waste minimization for the beneficial reuse of its secondary fiber rejects generated in its recycled fiber plant in the manufacture of paperboard materials. This recycling project diverted approximately 72,000 cubic yards of waste materials from the landfill on an annual basis. (2005)

Brown County Business Recycling and Waste Minimization Award

Green Bay Packaging Inc. – Green Bay Coated Products Division was presented with the Brown County and Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce award for recycling and waste minimization for the diversion of waste pressure sensitive label stock from landfill.  Coated Products partnered with another company to convert 295 tons per month of this material into supplemental fuel pellets. Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute Environmental Award for Innovative Technology

Green Bay Packaging Inc. – Green Bay Coated Products Division was presented with the Tag and Label Manufacturers Environmental Award for Innovative Technology for its project to convert unrecyclable pressure sensitive roll label stock into supplemental fuel pellets for energy recovery. Since the inception of this program, approximately 300 tons per month of solid waste has been diverted from the landfill and used in energy recovery. (2004)

Environment and Conservation Challenge Citation Award

Green Bay Packaging was recognized by President G.W. Bush with a Citation Award in the Innovation category of the Environment and Conservation Challenge program sponsored by the Council of Environmental Quality. (1991)
